Work the question before you commit to it
Most of what goes wrong in a tax-driven transaction goes wrong early, quietly, and for free — a box checked in the wrong order, a deadline nobody calendared. These tools walk the same path we would walk with you.
Nothing you enter is collected
There is no sign-up, no email wall and no tracking on these pages. Your answers stay in your browser for the length of the visit and are never sent anywhere. That is a deliberate choice: on a tax site, a free-text box reliably collects financial detail nobody asked for, and information that is never collected cannot be breached.
Where a tool stops
A tool can tell you which rule you are standing in front of. It cannot tell you what your basis is, what your depreciation history did, or what your state will do about it — and those are usually where the number actually comes from. When you reach that point, the next step is a conversation.

Educational material, not tax or legal advice, and not a recommendation. These tools apply general rules to the facts you enter; every transaction turns on its own facts, and the state layer alone can reverse the answer. Nothing here substitutes for advice from your own tax counsel on your specific situation.
