Wealth Management

Wealth management has become one of those phrases that can mean almost anything, so let's be clear about what we mean by it. Not picking investments — that is one piece of it. We mean the harder work of making your investments, your taxes, your income, and your estate actually point in the same direction.

The reason that matters is the reason we wrote this book. Most people's financial lives are handled by a handful of professionals who have never spoken to each other — an advisor here, a CPA there, an attorney who drafted the documents a decade ago. Each one does their piece well enough. The money leaks in the gaps between them, and those gaps stay invisible until something goes wrong.

So this book is about coordination more than any single strategy. How a portfolio should be built when part of it is illiquid; how to turn a pile of assets into income that lasts; how to carry risk across a whole balance sheet instead of one account at a time; and how to make sure the estate does what you actually intend. Read them in order or don't — but read them as pieces of one plan, because that is how they work.

You don't need to move everything to us, or fire anyone, to get something out of this. Most of what we do is make the pieces you already have work together. The goal of the book is the same: to help you see the whole picture at once, which is the only vantage point from which the right decisions get obvious.
